The cutscene for the "First Day at Work" transitions into the game. The player finds themselves standing at the entrance of the library. The character begins working at 22:00. The lights are dim, with low strength, and there are areas that are not fully illuminated. Suddenly, the phone vibrates, a small disclaimer appears, instructing the player: "Press '1' to hide/show phone.". The screen displays a message: "Check in by using punch cards and use the notebook to check further tasks. Good luck!"
Near the counter, there is a punch card box. The player must approach it, and when close, the text appears: "Press 'F' to interact." Upon pressing 'F', the character places the punch card into the box. Next, the player must approach the counter where the computer is located. The notebook is also nearby. When the player approaches the computer, the desktop screen is displayed and buzzing. The text prompts: "Press 'F' to interact." When pressed, the character fetches the notebook and opens it, where they can read the tasks they need to complete next.
After opening the notebook, a list will appear with the following tasks for the day:
Tasks for today:
Upon reading the tasks in the notebook, the phone vibrates again, and a text fades in: Press "1" to hide/show the phone. After pressing "1," the character grabs the phone and reads another message from her mom: "Do not forget to drink your medicine at 9:20."
The girl thinks to herself, and a subtitle appears: βIβm done with those pills.β She then puts her phone away. The player can now begin completing the tasks.
The shelves are numbered, and there are at least 20 shelves in the room, making it easy for the player to find the fourth shelf.
Task 1: By the fourth shelf, there are books dropped on the ground. The player must grab them by aiming at them and pressing and holding the left mouse button. The player holds the button to pick up the books, then tilts the camera up to place the book on the shelf. The book will automatically be placed on the shelf when the mouse button is held down.
After completing the task, a reminder appears: Press "2" to check tasks. Pressing "2" grabs the notebook, where the second task is displayed. The first task is automatically marked as complete.
Task 2: The broom and dustpan are near the bathroom. The player must find them, approach them, and press "F" to grab them. The broom automatically equips, but the player can still switch between items by pressing "1" for the phone, "2" for the notebook, or "3" for the broom.
The player then returns to the second shelf, where various papers, broken pens, and dust are scattered. While sweeping, a crumpled paper falls from above, causing the character to flinch. The paper begins vibrating strangely, and the player is forced to open it, as the broom has no effect on it. The text on the paper reads: Press "F" to pick it up. When the player picks it up, the paper displays a strange symbol and letters in an unfamiliar script: "α α α α α α α".
The player wonβt understand the meaning but decides to keep the paper for later investigation. At that moment, someone rings the bell at the counter, and the player is forced to go back.
Last Task: Managing Student Check-Ins and Check-Outs
The player will interact with three students: checking two out and one in.
The player checks one student in, and a subtitle appears: "Mhm, let's see what the paper says." The player must approach the computer and press F to use it. The screen transitions to a close-up of the computer. A prompt appears: "Press the left mouse button to proceed." Clicking progresses to the next scene.
The computer screen displays a fictional website: "www.https://WeSearch.you", where the character searches "Languages in the world." The search results show a list of 14 unique scripts, allowing the player to scroll through and identify the matching script. The list includes:
After identifying the script, the player presses Enter, and the character automatically searches for "ααα αααα" in English, revealing its meaning. Once this is done, the player checks one student out and ends the shift.
